Do you struggle with guilt and shame?

Spread the love

Does the enemy tell you that you’re the worst and others would never speak to you or love you if they only knew x, y, z about you?

The truth is that we all start out with the same sinful human nature.

As individuals in this world, we are naturally self-centered, and being self-centered gets in the way of living a life pleasing to God.

Rom 3:23: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

If we continue to feed that self-centered, sinful human nature once we are aware of it, rather than working to lay it down and make a choice to live a life pleasing to God, it will destroy us and lead to death.

Romans 6:23a: “For the wages of sin is death…”

BUT… (and I love that the verse doesn’t end before the but) the GIFT OF GOD is eternal life through Jesus.

Romans 6:23b “, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus Christ, our Lord. He already wiped the slate clean. He did it. It’s done and over. Praise Him!!

When we accept that gift of forgiveness – that selfless act of Jesus Christ when He died on the cross in our place… with acceptance of that gift and the crucifixion of our own self-centered nature… comes eternal life in Heaven. With acceptance comes redemption and renewal.

With acceptance comes the banishment of guilt and shame because nothing is left as a foundation for guilt and shame. There’s nowhere left for them to stand!

May you, child of the King, banish guilt and shame through acceptance of God’s truth, that His one and only Son died to pay the price for YOUR sins. All charges have been dropped. You’re free to go!

Blessings in Christ,

Keri
