Do you feel spiritually dry?
Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
We are all susceptible to sin. All of us. As I’ve shared in blog posts before, I had a reality check about a year ago when God called my attention to the fact that I was allowing some attitudes to creep in that were actually creating deeper problems for me. It was when I made a commitment to seek a deeper relationship with God in spite of circumstances that He opened my eyes to these attitudes. I asked Him to give me eyes to see, and He did! When I realized that my defensiveness in a situation was rooted in pride and wanting to do it on my own (I hadn’t even thought about that BEING pride!) and repented, I could feel a weight lifted. My prayers no longer felt like they were hitting the ceiling, and I felt a joy that I hadn’t felt in a very long time.
We know that when we seek God, we’re going to find Him. His word tells us that, too. I encourage you to pray this prayer this week… and if there is something He opens your eyes to see standing in your way, let it go. It’s not worth the loss of your joy and victory in Christ!
