He has the best grin.

Spread the love

He has the best grin.

I took my middle son to his end-of-the-season cookout tonight.

One of the coaches made a comment about that great grin of his. He was right, you know. When that boy is pleased about something, that grin is priceless.

I have often commented on it. It melts me.

And when he got his trophy tonight?

That adorable grin.

He was so proud of what he had accomplished and I was proud of him.

I watched him run and play with his friends tonight, and I don’t think he stopped smiling. His middle name is Isaac, which means laughter or “he who laughs.” I often tell him that the joy of the Lord is his strength – because it IS.

As a parent, I often find myself reflecting on how God views us. HIS children.

As frustrated as I may get when my kids pull some shenanigan or another, I take such delight in just watching them grow and learn…. in spending time with them and just cuddling them to listen to them talk about their days.

I love it because I love them.

Even when they break all the rules (and some of my favorite items), I love them.

Do you want to know what your Heavenly Father feels when He looks at you?

Love.

It’s who He is. Nothing can separate you from that love according to Romans 8:38.

Nothing.

“ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

I imagine He loves it when He sees you grin too.

In Christ,

Keri

PS – Do you really know what it means to say God is love? What does that mean? I wrote a book several years ago called Love Isn’t Selfish: Understanding God’s love through human relationships. You can find it on Amazon here.
