Just Trust…

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Have you ever caught yourself wondering, “Why is this happening??”

If you’re anything like me… like most of us, really, you probably want answers when the struggles hit. Have you ever asked, “Why would God allow this??”

It’s a natural question. Our brains are wired to seek understanding, I think. We want to know and understand. In fact, it’s a hallmark trait of anxiety to want answers and control when a situation gets difficult. To not be in control requires trust in order to have peace.

Friend. Whatever you are facing right now, you have two choices. You can try to explain it with earthly logic while trying to control it and do it on your own, or you can choose to trust in the Lord, even though you don’t see yet how He’s working in the situation.

Easier said than done, I know, but as you’re praying, try praying this scripture back to God. “Lord, help me to trust you with all of my heart and not try to rely on my own, limited understanding.” Trust that He is who He says He is… He is good, and He loves you. Trust does not require understanding.
