Do you feel accepted? – Part 2
Part 2
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God
Romans 15:7
Last week, we talked about how we have been accepted, and how that need has been fulfilled.
This week, I want to focus more on the first part of this passage. “Accept one another”.
I’m sure we all know what it feels like to not be accepted. I’m sure you know the hurt when someone turns their back, or you look around and nobody seems to be in your corner. I know I do. But I also know what it feels like to know that Christ accepted ME. HE loves me. He loves you and accepts you, flaws and all.
I choose to dwell on who DOES accept me, rather than who doesn’t. Because of that, it’s easier for me to make a conscious choice to show acceptance to those who may seem difficult to accept, because I know I’m only seeing the surface. I don’t know their story and their hurts, and I don’t have to. What I DO know is that the same Christ who accepts me accepts them too.
