๐ŸŸ Cast all your anxiety… ๐ŸŸ

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:6

Today’s passage is one I’ve had on my mind quite a bit lately. It’s always been one of those abstract verses in my head and it’s easy to be left wondering, “how does one actually CAST cares?”

Recently, though, I had a visual of casting a fishing line into the water. When you’re fishing, you don’t cast the line and immediately reel it in, then cast again, reel it in, etc. … you cast it, leave it there, and wait.

With that visual, I was thinking of the power of our words and verbally “casting” those cares to God. For example, speaking the words, “Lord, I put this situation at your feet. I trust that you are working in it.” EVERY time you are tempted to worry about it…. then wait, expecting to get a bite when the time is right.”

In your situation, it may look like verbally acknowledging to God that WHATEVER happens in the future, you trust Him to take care of you.

This verse pairs well with Psalm 46:10, which says (in part),
“Be still and know, that I am God.” I love that verse so much too! When we stop trying to take it into our own hands (a sneaky version of pride), and cast it onto God, it takes the pressure off of us.

So today, whatever you are wrestling with, cast it back to God. Use your words and verbally throw it back to Him, then trust Him with the process.
