I have visions (and it’s not what I expected)

I believe God still speaks to us through dreams and visions. I always expected visions to be something… different. Maybe like a big movie screen in front of my face that was just blatantly obvious. I’m sure God does that too, but I realized a while back that I do have visions, but I see things differently than I expected. It’s generally when I close my eyes but I’m not asleep, particularly when I’m praying for someone. I’m learning to pay closer attention.

I’ve had a few experiences lately that have confirmed for me that I’m not “just imagining it” and I’m continually just amazed at

how God works. I’ve been very hesitant to share about visions and dreams because it’s just not something we hear about all that often, but there are times I just feel pressed to share. This is one I found exciting and encouraging!

Several nights ago, I had one of those visions. I’d closed my eyes but wasn’t yet asleep. I saw a long hallway that was dark and had many doors on each side. There were flames. I could see a lot of movement and figures scrambling frantically back and forth. I had a feeling they were demons and something wasn’t going their way. Then what I saw switched to a bright, very shiny gold King’s crown in two hands like someone was turning it around before placing it on someone’s head. That was immediately followed by the shiniest gold breastplate, floating in front of me like it was about to be applied to a King preparing for battle. I started feeling blessed and overwhelmed as I received the message that the King, Himself leads the army to victory. Holy Ghost bumps all over, tears in my eyes and I just had to share! Ooh, that was a good one. Whatever attack you may be under, just know that the enemy is scrambling because Jesus, our King, has already won the victory and the final battle has already been determined.
