Off with the old, on with the new…

I’m a mom. At any given time, I may look down to find any number of stains on my clothes. Jelly handprints, pizza sauce from little faces, snot (we won’t even discuss the other gross possibilities)… coffee (oh, wait… I think that’s now…), or maybe even something unidentifiable. The point is, life gets messy sometimes!

This is just as true, if not moreso, as it relates to our “self.” In life, we are all susceptible to enemy influences, to deception leading to poor decisions, to sinful actions that leave our souls stained. One we realize that we’re covered in stains though, we are responsible for that! We are responsible to CHANGE something. The beauty is that we’re not doing it on our own. We have a Heavenly Father just holding out that fresh, new robe to us so we can change into something clean. He’s already paid the price, He’s already made the arrangements. We just have to take the action.

Ephesians 4:22-24

…put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

(If you want to have a practical guide to how to put this into practice, check out my new book on Amazon, Learning to “Fear Not,” and the accompanying 90-day journal! The journal will be available as a free printable download for purchasing the book, or you can choose the printed version also on Amazon.)

So… I should probably go change my coffee-stained shirt before going to pick up the kiddos from school…

Have a blessed day!
