He hasn’t needed a breathing treatment for a long time…
Is your head on straight? I know there are various opinions on this out there, and it may be a controversial topic to some, but I want to share something with you. My oldest son, Paxton, has always been my “respiratory kid.” About a year and a half ago, he was hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with Pneumonia from RSV (not a fun experience!!). This kiddo has had respiratory problems since he was a baby. He was a preemie, and had his first breathing treatments around 5 months old. By history, he’s only gone 3 to about 3 1/2 months max before needing breathing treatments again. I quit putting away the nebulizer because as soon as I did, he’d need it again.
In March, I took him to an upper cervical chiropractor for his first (and only to this date) adjustment. He was already sick before he was was adjusted and was taking breathing treatments then… but since that time, he has not been sick to the point that he needed the breathing treatments at all. He’s had a snotty nose here and there (a LOT of allergies) but has done amazing. On top of that… he ran out of allergy meds early on and I decided to wait to get more, just to see how he’d do… so the only thing he has taken since late March or April (I don’t remember now) has been vitamins and occasional Dimetap when snotty.
When I had been praying for a better understanding of healing and researching in scripture, I realized that God has already given our bodies the ability to heal (otherwise, if you cut your hand, it would always stay cut, right?), so when I began to research upper cervical chiropractic care, as recommended by a dear friend, it just made sense to me.
The premise is that it relieves pressure on the brain stem and allows your nervous system to function properly. As our chiropractor said, it allows the body to heal itself because healing comes from the top (God) down, and inside to out. “Only the one who made the body can heal the body.”
While I haven’t seen a major difference in myself yet, or in the four year old, I have to say I’m impressed with Paxton’s progress so far. I don’t know how long he’ll go without needing albuterol, but let’s hope it’s a good long time… if ever.
So, I want to share this video with you about the general idea of upper cervical chiropractic, and encourage you to do your own research, as always!!
